Music commission I've created for @LinkDerg.
Initially, the client requested this song to be an arrangement of Mariya Takeuchi's Yume no Tsuzuki, but since I don't like to arrange music from mainstream singers and bands out of fear I may get struck by copyright, I composed instead an original song that's heavily inspired by it.
So yeah, it feels jazzy and very 80s-like, just like Takeuchi's song.

This is the theme for Zhangken, the main protagonist of Sparks, a Tale of Ink.
There were plenty of notions I had to follow while composing this.
First of all, the song starts out restful and then develops into something more energetic. This is all to indicate Zhangkens eagerness about what he wants to discover throughout the telling of the story.
And secondly, considering the guys name and racial type (hes a sable, a weasel-esque animal from Northeast China), Ive composed this theme with heavy usage of Chinese instruments, including but not limited to the dizi, erhu, and pipa.
Overall, it was very fun to compose this. Looking forward to compose more stuff with this distinct ethnic feeling to it.

This is theme for Gale, one of the secondary characters from Sparks, A Tale of Ink.
Considering this guy is a teacher with a proficiency in combat skills, this theme is supposed to represent the serenity of a regular tutor whilst also giving slight hints of their superiority among their class.
The fox doesnt approve of Zhangkens lack of interest in fighting, but deep down, he still cares about the sables well-being in regards to the quest he wants to embark on.
