On May 16, 2000, the Ontario City Council established the “Model Colony” Award Program to honor outstanding achievements in historic preservation within the community. Named to reflect Ontario’s legacy as the Model Colony, the annual program highlights the city’s rich heritage and commitment to preserving it.
