"People think I'm insane, I am losing money all the time!" - With apologies to Ozzy
Happy Sunday, everbody! Matt, Susan and I are stoked to be back for yet another episode of "Stop the Insanity!", this time only 6 weeks since the last one! You regulars already know the drill. But for you newbies who haven't seen the previous episodes of this series within a series, here is a brief rundown on what this show is about:
We show examples of comic art that has been resold, specifically at auction, within 5 years of it's initial purchase. The data has shown us that these types of quick resales result in financial losses to the resellers approximately 85% of the time. So Matt, Susan and I use this data to urge collectors to stop the insanity and we give other options for collectors to try first, and recommend reselling at auction within 5 years of of buying the art as a last resort. It's a very simple concept to understand, but collectors keep doing things that go against their best financial interests, so that's why we continue to produce this series. Hopefully some of these collectors will one day learn the lessons that the market itself is trying to teach them and they eventually start making smarter selling decisions.
This is most people's favourite series on this channel, so to those of you who are newer collectors in this hobby, stick around so you can learn some very valuable lessons.
