Welcome back to my channel and welcome if you are new.
Okay friends… today was supposed to be a treasure hunt. You know how outlet shopping usually feels like digging for gold?
I went outlet shopping at Ballard Designs, Frontgate, and Grandin Road, and I was honestly shocked. I walked in expecting outlet prices… and I was seeing retail prices. Full price.. Sometimes even higher than what I’ve seen online.
I stood there thinking....,
‘Is this an outlet… or just a regular store with an outlet sign?’
It felt like going to a clearance rack and realizing everything is still full price, just hung on a different hanger.
I kept picking things up like:
“Oh this is beautiful… okay… wow… $399?”
“That’s outlet?”
“This chair is stunning… but wait… that’s retail pricing.”
At that point, it stopped feeling like a deal and started feeling confusing.
Outlet shopping used to mean:
Last season, Slight imperfections, Huge discounts, WHERE IS THE DISCOUNT?!!
I’m not saying the quality isn’t there, because it absolutely is. These brands are beautiful. But when you walk into an outlet, your brain is wired for savings. You’re expecting a win, but not this time....
So I left a little astonished.
Not mad.
Not upset.
Just genuinely surprised.
And it made me wonder…
✨ Have you noticed this too?
✨ Are outlet prices at your stores starting to look like retail prices?
✨ Or do you still find real deals where you live?
Drop a comment and tell me:
Which outlet stores you shop at and if prices have gone up??
Because if outlets are becoming retail… then we really have to start redefining what “a good deal” even means anymore.
And that’s exactly why I love mixing outlet shopping with:
Thrifting, DIY & Repurposing and using what I already have...
Because sometimes the real luxury isn’t what you buy…
It’s how smart you shop.
