Hi hello I hope you guys don’t hate my new format, tho the views are saying that the new style I upload in sucks so please validate me :-D
[Edit: the stuff in this part/explained in the description is no longer 100% canon in this story lol, Darksoul has been un-antagonised as I already feel I have enough villains. She’ll still be a background character, but she won’t have as big a role. Or maybe she will. Nothing’s been set in stone yet ^^"]
For those wondering what’s going on in this part: basically, Darksoul (darkest kitty cat that is the focus of the whole part) grew up being invalidated by her transphobic mother (Breezycreek, cat who lip-syncs in the first shot and is dead in the last one) who kept calling her a “tom” and referring to her as her “son”. Her siblings were like “oh yay mother is nice to us” so they didn’t really care much about how abusive she was to Darksoul (except for Sparrowcall — the tabby standing next to Darksoul in the second shot, to her right — who began to realise that “hey, maybe mom isn’t so good actually” after becoming a warrior. Maybe, had he lived longer, things would’ve been different for Darksoul in the future). Anyways, this lack of support and love made Darksoul grow up to be cold and bitter, the only cats she had remotely any care for being her siblings Sparrowcall and Mosshitch (though they both died pretty early on in life — like, within moons of them all becoming warriors). Meanwhile, she justifiably hated her mother, and so she didn’t care when her mother died. Annndd that’s what’s going on in this part!!
This is part of my warriors OC story “Casting Long Shadows”… I hope to make it into an animatic-styled series some day, and I hope you all will like it!! :-) Darksoul is one of the main antagonists in the story and I’ve put a lot of work into her!! ^^ (Also, if you’re gonna be mad about “omg how dare you make a trans villain that’s bad rep!!”, just know that she’s far from the only trans character and that like. I’m allowed to make my villains diverse too lol. I want equality here, and that means both cis and trans people can be good and/or bad!! I don’t want to give boring representation, I want to make all my characters interesting and add nuance to them, regardless of gender identity and sexuality. Idk about you, but I’d rather see a well-developed nonbinary character who is evil than see a perfect nonbinary character without any flaws or personality.)

anyway. since i made the au, i’ve developed it to be a bit better — more thought-through. brambleclaw’s motivation weren’t… really making sense lmao,, and even though i lowkey hate him, he’s still not a bad person/cat.
the basics of this are the same, with some changes;
1. brambleclaw is actually infatuated with squrrelflight and he doesn’t get together with her because AhAH imma make ashfur sad :333”, but the two of them do have a rivalry.
2. lionblaze and ashfur are close, sort of like a father and son (because this is my au, fuck off i do what i want). this is basically because of ashfur’s decision to do everything he can to not further harm squirrelflight — being a good mentor to her kit was a way to make her life better, after all. but yeah, ashfur is more of a dad to lionblaze because i feel like it so suck it up
3. brambleclaw, when confronting squirrelflight, isn’t intentionally keeping the three in the middle of the fire. it just sort of happens, and he doesn’t really notice. the reason why he’s yelling at squirrelflight in the first place is still because he finds out she lied to him and the three aren’t his, but i’m still not sure how he finds that out. maybe tigerstar?
4. brambleclaw’s intentions when he saves firestar are the same as in canon, because younger me was really just an angsty kid on the inside when they decided to make brambleclaw evil.

[SPOILER!!] Basically part of one of the cats faces falls off and the other gets pulled into the void by multiple paws. Also a wound opens in the neck of the one that has its face fall off but I dont think thats as gruesome so Im mentioning it last.
Basically, after Sedgehazes gf Koicoat dies, she starts having nightmares about StarClan not actually existing and she grows terrified that she wont ever get to see Koicoat again, even in the afterlife. :-( Very sad
TO BE CLEAR: this is a nightmare. Not something that actually happens outside of Sedgehazes dreams.
