Come get a tattoo with me! My FIRST tattoo! 😵 I really wanted to vlog this experience as this tattoo is very special to me and I am BEYOND excited to have it. I cover everything in this video like - how much does a tattoo hurt? How long does a tattoo take? What does a tattoo feel like? AND the meaning behind my first tattoo.
I was tattoo'd by Jamie Kan at Joanna Keller Beautique in Vancouver. Jamie has a new company of tattoo aftercare products called Ink Frost that I'll be using as soon as I'm able to clean my new rib cage tattoo.

down was just my state of mind
all the ups are mine to find
for the sun shines for those who look
beyond the clouds
My Auntie Susan passed away in April from complications with Kidney Disease. She was one of the biggest parts of my entire childhood and her passing hit me really hard. She was an incredibly strong and inspiring woman who left an everlasting mark on me. She inspired my love of makeup, fashion, animals, singing, performing, and all things that are magical in this world. Her spirit never wavered throughout her struggle with Kidney Disease and she advocated for her own health and others who were going through similar health challenges.
My Auntie Susan was the lead singer of The Poppy Family, a popular Canadian band in the 60s and 70s. She had a successful career both with The Poppy Family and on her own. This tattoo is of lyrics from a song she sang in the late 60s - Beyond The Clouds ☁️✨
It was sung by her friends during her celebration of life and these lyrics resonate so deeply with me. I’m so honored to be able to call her my Auntie Susan. 💕
And of course thank you so much to @MikaylaGreenwood for coming along with me and documenting this tattoo! xx
