Just because it’s September and the start of climatological fall doesn’t mean that summer weather is giving up so easily. Heat and humidity are firmly in place the next few days. Highs will be in the lower to middle 90s today through Thursday with feels-like temperatures peaking near 100°. Overnight lows in the 70s will be close to daily records for how warm they are.
There’s a very slim chance of a shower or storm the next couple of days, with a somewhat higher chance arriving later Thursday. If storms do develop that day, they could be strong with gusty winds. A chance of scattered showers/storms continues Friday and Saturday, although exact timing and location are still uncertain those days, too.
We’ll get relief from the heat starting on Friday as highs slip back into the 80s, but it won’t be until the weekend that temperatures and humidity take a more notable step down.
