Columbus City Schools is getting ready for students to return to class Thursday. At the same time, the district is dealing with a projected $50 million budget deficit and ongoing questions about its health insurance spending.
On Wednesday, district leaders unveiled renovations to Salem Elementary School, with brand new classrooms, a library, bathrooms, playground, and outdoor classroom designed by students.
The funding is from the district's permanent improvement fund approved by Columbus taxpayers.
