An illegal immigrant allegedly launched a horrifying firebomb attack on a peaceful Jewish rally in Boulder, Colorado—leaving eight people, many elderly, burned in broad daylight. Authorities have classified it as an ideologically motivated hate crime and an act of terrorism.
At 1:26 PM on June 2, 2025, chaos erupted on Pearl Street. Witnesses say the attacker, shouting “Free Palestine!” and “We have to end Zionists—they are killers!”, allegedly threw Molotov cocktails—improvised incendiary bombs—at demonstrators participating in a peaceful Run for Their Lives event advocating for the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
The suspect, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national, had overstayed his U.S. visa since February 2023. Despite immigration violations, he had received work authorization under the Biden administration and remained in the country until his arrest. Soliman allegedly used both Molotov cocktails and a makeshift flamethrower in the attack.
Authorities including the FBI, DHS, and Colorado’s Attorney General are treating the incident as a targeted hate crime and part of a broader counterterrorism investigation. Colorado Governor Jared Polis condemned it as a “heinous act of terror.”
