Complete Rocky Mountain scenic drive on Grand Mesa Scenic Byway (Colorado Route 65) in western Colorado. We begin at the north end of the scenic byway at I-70 and head south, where the canyon views change to snowy mountain vistas and partially frozen mountain lakes as we climb to over 10,000 feet in elevation. Grand Mesa is the largest flat-top mountain in the world.

This scenic drive was recorded in late May.

As we ascend and descend the twisting pass, the views unfold in this lesser-known corner of the Sierra Nevada region, offering a sense of untouched wilderness that few travelers discover, leading us to the remote outpost of Oasis. From there, our adventure continues across the state line into Nevada, cruising along winding roads through the eerie ghost town of Lida with its abandoned mining relics, before picking up Highway 95 and journeying through vast open Mojave Desert valleys dotted with Joshua trees and historic sites, ultimately arriving in Beatty, Nevada. The arid, otherworldly landscapes and stark mountain formations along this drive mirror the dramatic scenery of nearby Death Valley National Park, providing a similar sense of vast isolation and geological wonder. We begin with a scenic drive through the Zion Canyon area, then head up to the Kolob Canyons area for a snowy winter scenic drive. Afterwards we drive through Zions backcountry on Kolob Terrace, a wonderful area that most people miss when visiting Zion. Finally, we drive through Zion Canyon in the opposite direction and end in Springdale, Utah. This drive was filmed and uploaded in 8K.
