Firefighters are making progress in extinguishing a fire near Yosemite that prompted evacuation orders. The Colorado Fire started around 1:25 p.m. Tuesday at Highway 140 and Colorado Road in Mariposa County, Cal Fire said. When the fire first sparked, it was "rapidly expanding" upslope and burned toward the Merced River drainage.
