Color studies is just a lovely, simple and relaxing way to learn for me. It’s the simplicity of exploring by mixing colors and put those mixes to use. Swatching is one thing, but actually using the mixes in a painting another.
The variation of water amount will let the mixes behave differently, granulating more or less. Showing some of their qualities or hiding it. Swatches will show some of it too. But truly to know, how the flow, glazing and lifting properties are, I feel is easiest to explore during the painting itself.
So this is what I’m sharing with you today, a glimpse into my exploration process, some play of the mind and pure joy.
