Piano cover of "Colony 9" from Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii and Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition on the Nintendo Switch. This arrangement focuses on the day version of the theme and mostly follows the Definitive Edition version, but it has some hints of the original arrangement. Original song by Yoko Shimomura. I made a much worse version of this instrumental cover around 8 years ago and used that one as a starting point for this. That one only had a few instruments, so I majorly built upon it. I also added in the last few measures are an original ending hinting towards the main theme, too.

Hearing this track always makes me nostalgic - it’s one of my favorites! I decided to try out a fuller instrumental cover this time, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out even though some of my software instruments aren’t great. The first half is closer to the original instrumentation while I changed up things a bit in the second half. I’m still pretty inexperienced with mixing, so sorry for any muddy or unbalanced spots!

And yes I reused some of the footage from my “Hometown” cover video. Shhh!

**SPOILERS FOR XENOBLADE CHRONICLES 3: FUTURE REDEEMED DLC BELOW**
This was inspired by the new DLC, and I was so excited to see Colony 9 and hear this music again! It’s been really nostalgic running around the colony to see what's the same and what's changed. It’s been great seeing Shulk again as well as references to Reyn, Dunban, Fiora, Sharla, Melia, and Riki.
