A powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck western Colombia, killing at least 224 people as rescue crews desperately search collapsed buildings and piles of rubble for survivors.
Dramatic video shows buildings collapsing and residents running for safety as the earthquake shook communities across the region. Pereira was among the areas reporting significant destruction, while residents in Cali, Colombia's third-largest city, formed human chains to remove debris piece by piece.
Colombia's government has declared a state of emergency, while officials say many people remain missing. According to Colombia's Geological Service, it was the strongest earthquake felt in the country in the past decade.
