Join us for an educational demonstration at The People's Forum as we delve into the intertwined histories of Bangladesh and Palestine. We will explore the past, present, and future of our two nations, highlighting our shared struggles.
From colonial pasts to ongoing struggles for self-determination, we will examine the connections between Bangladesh and Palestine to untangle the timeline in which both the Bangladeshi genocide, the violent displacement of Palestinians, and the ongoing occupation of Palestine took place simultaneously.
However, 50 years later after Bangladesh gained independence, the Bangladeshi government has now established relations with Israel to uphold mass surveillance of the working class and continues to adopt Israel's violent tactics. South Asian countries such as Bangladesh are not removed from their own complicity with Israel. Together, we will examine the parallel between Pakistan and Israel and what our future relations look like, reminding us all that global oppression and violence are deeply connected.
