Just to whet your appetite for the drama that is to come, here is the *REAL TIME ASCENT* of my Yamaha XSR125 up the highest road in the Alps - Le Col de la Bonette! The hairpins are something else taking quite a bit of concentration from someone who does not do track days or the like! But I am well past getting embarrassed about wobbling on the bends or even being on the wrong side of the road....sod it !!
The Pass tops out at 9200ft but I must make a point. People scoff when I say the the Hardnott Pass is tricky saying oh this and that Pass in Europe is much more difficult. Categorically The Hardnott is far more difficult but, of course, not as long and not as high!
