This percussion ensemble composition is for glockenspiel, three vibraphones, marimba, piano, electric piano, electric bass, cajon, shaker, triangle, suspended cymbal, claves, tambourine, and cowbell. The marimba part range fits on a 4-octave marimba.
This original composition for percussion ensemble takes a terrible pun and turns it into a wonderful idea: "Coffee Shop Vibes" as in vibes from a coffee shop, but also as in vibraphone vibes, which makes it the perfect title to annoy all of your students with at school and annoy all of your friends with while working and/or drinking coffee at your favorite local coffee shop. This song starts starts with a catchy vibraphone melody and cajon groove and builds on it with more instruments, both melodic and rhythmic, until the entire ensemble is all playing together. Then the melodic parts fade out in the same order they entered while the rhythmic parts fade out in the opposite order. Every four measures changes something and brings a new idea, which shifts focus to different instruments. Sit back, relax, sip some coffee, and enjoy some percussive jams!
