Grandpa Uppet loves coffee cake and other sweets. He will often say that he has a "sweet tooth". But Grandpa also has a bad chronic cough. Sometimes, his cough would get so bad that he would have to go to the doctor.
One day, Grandpa's grandson, Timmy, came over to visit. Timmy was worried about Grandpa's cough. He could tell that Grandpa was in pain.
"Grandpa," Timmy said, "I think you should go to the doctor."
"I'm fine," Grandpa said. "I just need to suck on a few throat lozenges."
Timmy went to the store and bought some throat lozenges for Grandpa. He also bought a coffee cake.
When Timmy got back to Grandpa's house, Grandpa was sitting in his favorite chair. He was coughing and looking very pale.
"Here, Grandpa," Timmy said. "These throat lozenges should help."
Grandpa took a lozenge and started to suck on it. He coughed a few more times, but then the lozenge started to work.
"Thank you, Timmy," Grandpa said. "That's much better."
Timmy sat down next to Grandpa and they ate the coffee cake together. Grandpa was still hungry, so Timmy went back to the store and bought him a second coffee cake.
After they finished eating, Grandpa's cough was gone. He was feeling much better.
"Thank you for taking care of me, Timmy," Grandpa said. "You're a good grandson."
"I'm glad I could help," Timmy said. "I love you, Grandpa."
"I love you too, Timmy," Grandpa said.
Timmy and Grandpa spent the rest of the day together. They played games, watched TV, and talked. Grandpa was so happy to have his grandson with him.
The next day, Grandpa went to the doctor. The doctor said that Grandpa's cough was caused by a minor infection. The doctor gave Grandpa some medicine and told him to rest.
Grandpa followed the doctor's orders and he soon got better. He was so grateful to Timmy for taking care of him.
Timmy was happy to help his grandpa. He knew that Grandpa loved coffee cake and other sweets, so he made sure to bring him plenty of treats. Grandpa was always hungry, but he was also always happy.
