On an unrelated note, a friend of the family was struck by a car while standing next to hers in a parking lot on Christmas Eve and suffered a devastating head trauma. Having fallen unconscious and rushed into surgery, she has now been moved to another facility and is unable to speak. Though she is aware, the doctors have expressed that she will have a very long road to recovery ahead.
