Learn how to build a powerful, safe kettlebell swing from the ground up. In this coaching session, we break down the movement step by step — starting with the kettlebell deadlift to establish the hip-hinge pattern, progressing to the Russian swing at eye level, and finishing with the full overhead swing.
Key coaching points covered:
- Why the kettlebell swing is a hinge, not a squat
- How to use leg drive to generate power (getting your knees to extend before the kettlebell reaches parallel)
- Keeping heels planted and big toes down to maintain balance
- Rib position at the top of the swing
- How to know when your kettlebell is too heavy for the intended stimulus
Whether you're a coach teaching the movement or an athlete looking to clean up your technique, this session offers clear cues and real-time corrections to help you move efficiently and safely.
