Local investors keeping the momentum going in Hong Kong - prospects of strong corporate earnings pushing the Hang Seng index up 367 points to 11,160.
U.S. Trade Representative Mickey Kantor is calling it the beginning of a much healthier relationship with China. The two countries reaching an agreement to stop the illegal flow of Chinese textiles into the United States, and limit the growth of legal exports. The U.S. had threatened to cut Chinas textile quotas by 25%.

And, bidding for Japanese contracts just made easier. On Tuesday, Japans government approved a plan that opens up bidding for major public works programs to international companies, regardless of whether they have prior experience in Japan. Current regulations only allow companies that have worked in Japan to bid.
