On Saturday, November 10th at approximately 7:15AM, Controlled Demolition, Inc. (CDI), working in conjunction with Manafort Brothers, Inc. (MB) and their Joint Venture Partner, Hartford Community Construction Company (HCCC), felled the 9-story structural steel/reinforced concrete CNG Office Building in Hartford Connecticut. The demolition project was one of the first steps in the development of the Adriaen’s Landing Redevelopment Project for the area.
CDI utilized approximately 200 lb. of explosives to fell and fragment the structure into manageable pieces for MBI/HCCC. They subsequently had the site cleared within three (3) weeks.
The use of explosives in the demolition process saved approximately two (2) months from the overall demolition schedule and offered a minimal amount of disruption to surrounding insurance company headquarters and Interstate 95 traffic directly adjacent to the site.
