Your external Vulva is NOT self cleaning like the internal canal(the vagina) is! The Clitoral hood(just like the foreskin of the P) has natural oils, dead skin cells, and sweat that can accumulate! If it’s not cleaned it creates a thick & sticky substance called smegma that can cause irritation, infection, or adhesions where the skin becomes STUCK. To clean it, you simply run warm water over it while gently using your fingers to move the hood. If it is painful or impossible, you should consult your doctor to be assessed for adhesions! We desperately need to start teaching children the correct terms for their anatomy and how to practice good hygiene!
