Effective clinician communication skills are well recognised as beneficial for both patients and clinicians. Evidence demonstrates that appropriate, timely and effective clinical consultation skills positively affect a range of patient health outcomes. This webinar brought together a panel of clinician educators and communication in healthcare experts to discuss effective communication and how it relates to fostering healing relationships and patient-centered care. The panel used the Optimal Care Pathway guidelines to promote consistent, best-practice cancer care by describing the expected communication tasks at each stage of the cancer trajectory.
