In a recent Corning lab test, we compared the damage resistance of two competitive covers glasses with Gorilla® Glass 6 — each was 0.7mm thick. Using the Knoop diamond Test, the exact same force was used to scratch the glasses. Not surprisingly, the scratch was far less visible on Gorilla® Glass 6. Next, we tested the retained strength of the scratched glasses. Using a ring-on-ring test, an increasing force was applied to all three glasses. Where the competitive glasses shattered, Gorilla® Glass 6 survived, showing a ~3x higher retained strength. Trust the science.
