No-one wants to see dead plants in their garden, but if a plant has been hit by weather extremes, then sometimes it just shuts down rather than dying. In the recent heat wave, many of my plants appeared to die, but I didn't cut back the dead or dying parts. I watered them and waited for rain - and I'm so glad I did. This tip can also work for plants hit by sudden cold weather, too - although, of course, sometimes a plant dies and that's that!
