The spindle of the Sheldon Vernon horizontal mill needed some clean up work. I turned a #9 Brown & Sharpe taper to lapped the spindle bore with some diamond paste to remove the surface rust and any high spots from bumps or bangs. Then the spindle got installed with some new Timken tapered roller bearings. This was the last step before making chips!
