In this video, I recreate that classic Yamaha DX7 electric piano sound on the ASM Hydrasynth.
The DX7 EP is one of the most iconic synth sounds of the 1980s — and in this tutorial I'll show you how to get that unmistakable FM-style electric piano character using the Hydrasynth.
We'll go through the patch and look at the oscillators, envelopes, filtering, modulation and effects to get as close as possible to that classic DX7-style tone.
