In this video, we'll talk about what it means to "catch the string", how the bow hold and the role of various fingers is fundamental to effortless clear articulation, how to find the "Ictus" of a tone, and practicing Colle and Martele stroke with etudes like Kreutzer No.7

Filmed for Soviet TV in 1981, a year before Leonid Kogans death. I combined all of the clips of Kogan playing the Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major from all of the episodes of the show. The footage has been restored and AI upscaled, and a high quality audio source was found, with correct pitch.
