CJ the Sumatran tiger is just a silly little guy. 🐯
Sumatran tigers are the smallest tiger subspecies, weighing in at a “petite“ 300 pounds or less as compared to their Amur cousins, which can reach 700 pounds. Like most cats, Sumatran tigers are solitary and live within a carefully guarded territory. Found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, they are Critically Endangered due to habitat destruction, poaching, and human conflict. The L.A. Zoo participates in the Sumatran tiger Species Survival Plan, and since 2005, has added eight cubs to the worldwide population.
