The Santa Barbara/Goleta metal scene was pretty sleepy in the later 2000s, glad Civil Unrest was around then to keep it real. A little history on the band: Civil Unrest was started in 2003 by members of Black List, a SB area punk band from the 80s. Civil Unrest released the full length Swept Away in 2004 and then went through some lineup changes. What you’re hearing now is an unreleased album recorded between 2006-2008. Civil Unrest singer Damien Franco also sang for Thee RKaLiens, which was the last incarnation of RKL (minus Jason of course) featuring Chris Rest, Joe Raposo, Boz Rivera and Chris Flippin.
