Just when I think I'm out, I get pulled back in again - #47 is ONE of my teaser trailers for the upcoming CITY OF HEROES expansion, FREEDOM, and its inaugural issue, #21: Convergence. (Yep, there will be multiple teasers, PLUS a trailer later on down the road.)
BEFORE EVERYONE GETS IN MY FACE OVER THIS:
Let me reassure you, this video does NOT break any kind of NDA whatsoever. It was shot ENTIRELY on the LIVE servers (thank you, Justice). All of the maps, all of the models, all of the effects, they are all available in the CURRENT version of COH. This is STRICTLY my take on what things MIGHT be like, based on information that has already been PUBLICLY RELEASED by the official Paragon Studios team.
Whew. Now that THAT'S out of the way...
COH:F holds a great deal of promise, and looks to be almost brimming with possibilities, as discussed by the developers and community team on the Paragon Studios Ustream chat over the course of this past week. Between the chats, the Overview on the main COH site, and the screenshots that have been shared, a lot of story threads, both old and new, will finally be coming to the forefront.
The focus on this teaser was inspired by screenshots of Mother of Mercy Psychiatric Hospital, the bastion of Praetor Tillman (aka Mother Mayhem) and her cadre of Seers. With luck, Issue 21 will allow players to strike at her stronghold, whether to free the Seers from her tyranny... or bend them to some other purpose.
To that end, I chose "Child's Play", a hauntingly lovely piece by Vladimir Coman (aka Bandesnaci) - check out his YouTube profile! (youtube.com/bandesnaci - he's also on Twitter as @Bandesnaci). And yes, the woman singing in the background is none other than yours truly.
