Citizen UK Wolverhampton: Punjabi Migration Experiences is a National Portrait Gallery project developed in partnership with Wolverhampton Arts and Culture, visual artist Anand Chhabra, Wolverhampton Poet Laureate Dr Kuli Kohli and a team of local Citizen Researchers.

Using archive material and the National Portrait Gallery collection as a starting point, the Citizen UK Wolverhampton project brought together Citizen Researchers to collect and uncover stories from Wolverhampton’s Punjabi Community. The project culminated in an exhibition where 10 new portraits by visual artist Anand Chhabra were shown alongside new oral histories, personal photographs and a new poem by Dr Kuli Kohli Wolverhampton’s poet laureate.
