Filmed 12.12.2020, this was a circumnavigation of Somes island by myself and Peter fuller. Maitu Somes island is in the middle of Wellington harbour, and has a long history as a Quarantine facility for both humans and livestock, a WW2 internment camp and Degaussing station, and is now a wildlife sanctuary. we had excellent weather for this, with a crosswind going across, and a tailwind coming back.
the boat is a QK tasman express, with a custom made 1sq m sail, and filmed on two different GoPro cameras.
