Happyfox Productions | Cinematography Practice - A Test to Improve your Cinematography with any camera! @happyfoxproductions | Uploaded November 2014 | Updated October 2024, 12 minutes ago.
Today I practice a small tip to getting better at cinematography with ANY camera! In this test I use a Blackmagic Cinema Camera with a with only focal lengths of 18-55mm. This test is challenging because you only have one spot with limited lenses and gear and TIME! You get 30 minutes to film the best footage you can with out moving to another spot. It can be very difficult in various situations. With elements such as the sun, shadows, cars, people, ect it makes it difficult to get good shots. This is why this excersize is great practice! Go to your favorite shooting spot and set a timer whether it is for 30 minutes of an hour and film the best you can! So when you are on an actual shoot, that knowledge will translate into better shots! You have to take into account dissembling equipment, changing lenses, framing shots, setting exposure, locking on ND filters, screwing on fluid heads, ect. These things take up more time than you think!
