We're trying to find out by trading up from a batch of dollar bin books to get an All-Star Comics #8. Along the way, I'll be trying to find books that my trading partners need for their collections - and that's you! Plus, I'll be scouring comic book stores and conventions for new dollar bin finds to add to the trading pool.
The Great Dollar Bin Trading Challenge is finally back!
9:08 - The Returning Books from last round 24:03 - New Additions to the Trading Kitty 40:48 - The Lists
A quick reminder of the rules: I began with 20 dollar bin books. If I drop below 20 books in the Trade Kitty, I'll add more books that I have found in dollar bins. Anything that enters the Trade Kitty is available to trade, and I won't be keeping any of these books for myself until the end. My hope is that you can take the extra books in your collection that you don't care about and then trade them to me for books you want, so we both get cool books that help our collection!
Here are the books available for Round 10:
1. Micronauts #1 (whitman) - 8.0 - $10 2. Chamber of Chills #1 - 5.0 - $10 - TRADED 3. - The Heap #1 - 3.0 - $10 - TRADED 4. DC Special Series #21 - 4.0 - $10 5. Venom: Lethal Protector #1 - 4.0 - $10 6. Pope John Paul II #1 - 6.5 - $15 7. X-Force #116 - 6.5 - $15 8. Spider-Man Reprint Lot - 8.0 - $15 9. GrimJack lot - 7.5 - $15 10. Lenticular lot - 9.0 - $15 11. John Carter: Warlord of Mars #1 - 8.5 - $15 12. Richard Dragon #5 &18 - 4.5 - $20 13. The Spectre #62 - 6.5 - $30 14. Adventure Comics lot - 7.5/8.0 - $30 15. Romance Lot - lower grades - $30 - TRADED 16. Silver Surfer lot - various grades - $40 - TRADED 17. Young Avengers #1 - 9.0 - $50 18. Lover's Lane #37 - 6.0 - $70 19. StarSlayer #2 - CGC 9.6 - $85 20. True To Life Romances #10 - 2.0 - $150 - TRADED
The fine print: I do reserve the right to turn down any trades. But since I am not keeping any books for myself, I am willing to take in almost anything you offer for whatever books you want from the trading Kitty, as long as the deal gets us closer to the end goal. Want to trade me a $100 Alf issue for $90 worth of X-Men keys? It a deal!!
A couple more rules: other than shipping, the only money I am allowed to spend is $1 on dollar bin books, to send books to CGC, or to pay a creator to sign a book. I cannot throw in any cash to sweeten deals, even at the very end. This has to be 100% pure trading start to finish!
I also reserve the right to rotate books out of the Kitty if it's clear nobody is currently interested; I will replace them with other dollar bin books. I will also be trading through other venues, so it's possible some books may enter the Kitty and then get traded out in between videos and never be offered on YouTube.
If multiple people express interest in the same books, I will respond in a first come first serve basis. If a deal can't be reached with the first person, I will then respond to the next, etc.
Once a deal is made, I will send the outgoing books after I have received the incoming ones.
Finally, higher value books will be retired from the regular Kitty and placed in a separate Kitty to be traded only for high value books.
I can also provide scans of the books if you want a closer look at them. If you're interested in trading for one or more of these books, you can email me at:
crimebustercomics@gmail.com.
I truly think this could be a ton of fun as a community challenge, and a great way to get cool books into the hands of the people who want them most. And I also think we can actually pull it off!
