Welcome to the 100th episode of Church and State!
For 100 episodes, we’ve examined the events shaping the Catholic Church and the world around us. In this special episode, Chris and David look at two deeply troubling developments: the continuing breakdown of Catholic moral teaching and the growing willingness of society to treat human life as something that can be bought, selected, modified, or discarded.
First, they discuss the story of a former Discalced Carmelite nun whose ministry was encouraged by Pope Francis, and what her story reveals about the wider conciliar revolution, the abandonment of the natural law, and the fragmentation of Catholic identity.
Then the discussion turns to a shocking case involving surrogacy and an unborn child with a treatable heart condition, whose intended parents demanded an abortion. From there, the conversation examines the deeper consequences of IVF, surrogacy, genetic selection, and the commercialization of human reproduction.
