The internet exploded when Chuck and Mike tweeted that they were getting back together, or at least the corner of the internet that came up with The Cool Kids as their model of cool, but Chuck swears they didn't intend to make such a big splash. They may have been trending on Twitter, but he insists publicity wasn't on his mind at all, only music. "I didn't care," he said. "It was all about me."

As far as the reason they broke up in the first place, "We're just two different people," he said. "We both knew it wasn't fun. It wasn't fun for a while."
Although after hearing Chuck speak, "break up" may be the wrong word. Apparently the vision all along was to make their split more of a hiatus, give both guys some breathing room and wait until the time was right for a return, both personally and culturally.
The planets finally re-aligned after five years, and now we all have some Cool Kids music to look forward to. And by the sounds of it, we should be looking forward to some greatness. As Chuck pointed out, "You've never heard a wack song from us."
You know, the man's got a point.
