As a tribute to my favorite stage that was removed, here is a special edit of old footage of my favorite Chuck E. Cheese song: "Song of Summer." This video was recorded at the Whitehall, PA location (Lehigh Valley Mall) in July 2022. These robots were sadly removed from the location in June 2023.
Fun Facts about this location:
-This type of stage is called a CU 1-Stage. Only three were ever created, and this is one of them.
-The 'CU" means "Concept Unification." This was the process used to convert the ShowBiz Pizza Place locations into Chuck E. Cheese's locations in the late 80's and early 90's. This means that these characters were originally Rock-afire explosion animatronics and were repurposed as Munch's Make Believe Band.
-The giant rainbow flag is not the original backdrop; it was added in Spring 2021 for the "Spring-Tastic Celebration" and remained through the end of 2022. I personally like the rainbow as the new backdrop, especially with the connection to LGBTQ+ Pride!
-It has been reported that this used to be a traditional 3-stage location. However, due to poor stage conditions, the characters were given a new, single stage against the back wall in 2010, and the wall where the original stage was located was replaced and expanded.
-For this video, I dubbed in the raw audio of the song for maximum quality. You want Munch's Make Believe Band to sound their best, right?
