Finally got the low 6:5x:xx time! I struggled getting a pb from the 6:57 but at the same time I knew I was more then capable of getting this or even the WR, which I did not get. At the time of this posting that is held by EvilAsh25 with a 6:48:12.
This could be my last pb but I might try some more runs. I felt that I could have gotten a 6:45:xx and Ash also feels that a low 6:4x:xx is possible. The tough part is grinding RNG. Hoping for good stats, AP rolls for all the fights, 1st key ghost ship, and so on.
No matter what this speedrun will always be special to me. It was my 2nd love after Breath of Fire II and really both games have various reasons to why they are special for me.
For a summary, which I went over in the credits:
- I have hardly gotten a 0:57:xx Lynx - let alone a low 0:58:xx. The 0:55:40 was an outlier but helped me cover for time! Only guard fights with 3 (none with 4) Good AP rolls and a nice str on Kid helped me out a lot here
- The downside was that I didn't get a Iceblast from Marcy, her common drop. This is a lv 4 blue element that has a nice boost in spell power over the aquaball. Its hard to put a value on it but I think it costed me at least 20-30 seconds from not ending fights a bit earlier
- Polly went a little south but it was a time gain. Could have been a bit better
- 17str serge with a 1 key ship. my fights weren't clean but I can't complain
-Mt. Pyre Glenn had really good str and Leena was okay magic, but again not having iceblast hurt
-Lost 30 seconds to Gloop, was a bit of a shame but with leena missing and bad stamina + her getting frozen it didn't help
- Rest of fort was good - had 3 mins from troll Taursoid in previous pb
- first time with at least a 2:15 Lynx and crushed it, with opportunities. It is hard to get everything to play so nicely up to this point! If I could get 2:15 Lynx darn near eveytime I wouldn't mind grinding the game more. -- Serge had 24 Str. Highest I have seen was 29 but I like to be at least 25. I did end up getting him to a nice str before he was needed, so it worked out fine
-WightKnight - random encounters to him were good/went well. Lost a minute because of low magic Harle and Sprigg. Had to beat him down with Sprigg, photon didn't kill.
-Miguel had a mess up on the pb so gained that time back
-Vipor sewers - man was looking soooo good and then the 2nd half went down hill fast. Trolly mobs in the way and then Roachester fight had a weird AP and I misplayed it trying to bring it back.
- Dario, not much I can do there. I had a 19 magic Marcy and was against a 25 magic. Was shocked at the 1:40 lost only, thought it would be 2-2.5 mins
- Earth Dragon, amazing 2 fights leading to him and really good AP roll
-water dragon fight had a sad time loss with a miss on Serge - balanced out super pb on earth thou
-Green Dragon island - really nice fight but really botched up a pterodactyl encounter - should have been able to gain 1 min more on this split
- FireDragon - got into random encounter to him and had a slight hiccup with him so that was 40 seconds
- Vitas Unus and Fate had nice time gains to be had from bad stuff on the pb and we got em. Fate could have been better but at least I didnt have to run away... CLOSE!
- Tower Terror - As a hole didnt go well. Was 8 seconds off of WR but there was hardly anytime to gain here. npcs were mean and I messed up my share. Got into 2 fights and screwed up red doll fight. This with the 2 extra fights was 1:30 hit
- Gravitor was a bit trolly but just minor loss
- Dragon God had a decent start but didnt get off of phase 1 quickly. -- Watch live at twitch.tv/andyw3321

Overall, not a bad run! Menuing is getting much better. Was able to clean up a lot of sloppy mistakes from the previous pb. I still had some, but nearly as much. That combined with overall better movement and menus helped a lot with bringing the time under sub 6.
Next goal is to get to a point of consistent sub 6 runs and the pbs should start to happen a bit more. Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/andyw3321")
