Of all the miracles of Jesus, the cursing of the fig tree stands out like a sore thumb. All these stories about healing the sick, lame, blind, leprous, deranged and even bringing people back from the dead and then there is this story about Christ killing a tree. And while we can’t deny that supernatural forces were used in this story, hence why it is listed as a miracle, it always seemed strange to me. Some believe that this illustrates Christs “mortal side” and he woke up on the wrong side of the bed that morning. But that doesn’t make since in the context of Christ being perfect. Others don’t believe he did it at all and the story or interpretation is incorrect. This video explores and explains what this miracle is all about and what we can learn from it.
