Grandma Loretta's Anise Cookies:
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 4 Eggs
- 2 C. Sugar
- 1 tsp. Anise Extract
- 4 C. Flour

- Add salt to eggs and beat until lemon-colored.
- Add sugar gradually. Continue beating until sugar is dissolved.
- Add anise extract and beat until blended.
- Beat in flour to make a moderately stiff dough. Chill for several hours.
- Roll into rectangle sheet 1/2" thick on floured board. Cut into 1 1/2" squares.
- Place on greased sheet and chill, uncovered, for 1 hour.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes*
- Cool and store in covered container.
* My cookies were a little smaller. I baked them for about 13 minutes, and they turned out great!
