Ready your astronaut suits, because you're about to read a whole space-themed story that was inspired by this song :P



The excitement was real alright. We were just about to launch the world's most powerful rocket in order to reach the nearest habitable planet, about 4.5 light years away, in an attempt to find extraterrestrial life. "This is gonna be huge" I thought to myself as I waited adjacent to the hibernation capsule, but as I sat there, buckled in place, anticipating for the confirmation of launch, I started thinking to myself. I'm leaving everything I know behind. This whole planet, and all the beauty within it, will never be seen by my own eyes ever again. It's a one-way trip, and just imagining being indefinitely gone from it all filled me with an odd sense of nostalgia. Everything I learned, everything I experienced, everything I felt, it will all matter more than anything to me than it ever had before, yet it all feels like something I'm giving up in pursuit of an uncertain and bold future.
