A few things to be aware of while you work through this. First the degrees and the sound: you can sing the C throughout, you can sing the chords, or you don't have to sing at all — that's fine, just be aware of which one you're doing.
The other thing to stay conscious of is dynamics: how loud or soft you're actually playing.
