Frédéric Chopin (1810–1849) was a Polish composer and musician whose primary instrument was the piano. Not only does Warsaw contain a Chopin Museum, but the city's airport is also named after Chopin. The airport also contains a Chopin Music Spot, an area with several seats and an upright piano on a small stage. The piano is open to members of the public to play, creating an opportunity for visitors to actively contribute to the sonic environment of the airport. In this recording, an anonymous pianist is accompanied by the sounds of cutlery from a nearby café and announcements over the airport public address system.
