With synth presets coming jam packed with effects nowadays it's not always easy choosing sounds that blend well together.
In this video I hope to show you the importance of sound selection and how to choose the correct sounds. I hope to achieve this by showing you how I made a beat on Logic Pro X and why I chose the sounds that I did.
Sound selection is something that for many years I did not think too long and hard about when making beats. If I liked a sound I would just use it not considering if it really blended well with the other instruments in the beat I was making. Through years of producing, watching other producers and in particular when in mixing sessions I realised how important choosing the right sounds was in how to make a beat.
This applies to any DAW Logic Pro X, FL Studio, Pro Tools, Cubase, Reason to mention a few but especially with Logic Pro X. With Logics to update to Logic Pro X Apple have create a load of presets that when opened automatically throw on effects. These effects range from compression, eq, reverbs and many more. These are great in making sounds sound good on their own within Logic Pro X but in conjunction with a full ensemble of instruments they do not.
This was not touched fully in the video but I will be sure to mention this in a latter video.
