In this video I take a look at some carpet samples and try to determine the best fibre and pile type that are easier to vacuum than my current deep pile saxony. Some of the carpet samples were a bit small to properly try my selection of vacuum cleaners on, but I did find a few carpets that allowed easier movement of the cleaners including straight suction, cordless and corded uprights. When choosing a new carpet, try and get some larger samples to try or take your current vacuum cleaner to the carpet shop.
Many carpet manufacturers recommend using an upright vacuum cleaner that has both carpet height and suction controls, so the vacuum can adjust to different types of carpet in your home.
