Hey guys!
In this tutorial I show you how to created this chiseled text effect in Adobe Illustrator. I tried to keep the tutorial as short as I could, but there is just a lot that goes into successfully creating this style, however, if any of you know of any better ways to do this, please feel free to post it in the comments and I will pin it! Once you have all of the shapes made, thats when you can start to experiment with different colours, so you could go for something like what I used in the video, just random colours, or you could use different shades of the same colour, as shown in the thumbnail and start of the video. Alternatively, you could start to experiment with gradients (which does look good, i've tried it) but for this tutorial I wanted to focus on getting the style down. Anyway, I hope this tutorial has helped you guys learn a thing or two that you didn't already know, thats always the goal with these videos. Hey guys! So a lot of you have requested that I do a slowed down version of my speed arts in order to see what I am doing and what tools Im using etc, so here it is! This is NOT a tutorial, so please do not be mistaken. I will be doing tutorials in the near future once I have purchased a good mic, but for now, this will cover it.
Anyway, I chose a random word (ink.) since it is fairly short and since I was going to slow the whole video down, I didnt want it to be too long that nobody would watch it. The final outcome is somewhat basic, but the purpose of this video is to show you guys how I create custom type from start to finish. This is not the only way to do so, this is just one of many different methods; this also applies to the type style. There are endless possibilities with type, it is just a matter of experimenting and learning already existing styles and making them your own.
I hope this video has at least helped some of you, let me know what you guys think, and also if you would like to see more videos like these rather than the usual roughly 5 minute long speed arts! Thanks!
