Unlike the dragons of western folklore, which were treated as savage and dangerous, the dragons of Chinese mythology, the lung, were virtuous, wise, and extremely powerful. With power over water, the weather, and unknown phenomena, and ties to celestial places and the pantheon, Chinese dragons were rather godlike!
