CHINESE MEDICS FLY TO CONGO, WHILE U.S. PUTS UP WALLS
FIVE MEDICAL SPECIALISTS from China arrived in DR Congo yesterday to help local doctors fight the ebola outbreak, which has killed 60 people.
There is no vaccine or treatment for the present strain of the deadly disease.
At the same time, the US said American citizens who get the disease will not be allowed back to their home country.
An American doctor who caught it last month was sent to Germany, and the US is setting up a facility in Kenya for all other Americans who catch the disease.
“We cannot and will not allow any cases of Ebola to enter the United States,” US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said at a cabinet meeting on May 28.

In DR Congo, the team from China, led by Professor Lu Ming, said they will use standard medical techniques augmented by Chinese medicine.
An ancient Chinese medicine was successfully developed into a malaria treatment, winning its discoverer a Nobel Prize for Medicine.
Meanwhile, many Kenyans are angry, and have asked why the US should intentionally bring the disease into their country.
“If it is too dangerous for America, it is too dangerous for Kenya,” Dr Davji Atellah from the country’s main medical union told the press.
